February 10, 2009 (41/365)
I'm sitting here watching David Letterman interview the pilots and crew of the flight that had to land in the Hudson River. He's spending a considerable amount of time with these people and while he's joking with them a lot, he's getting quite an extensive retelling of the emergency landing.... far more than any of the many news shows they've appeared on. I think that's telling of something. Probably the truly sad state of news "reporters" and "anchors" who are more interested in telling guests what they want them to say, gleaning only the most superficial and titillating details, and squeezing it all in between commercial breaks. I think Walter Cronkite would be proud of Dave.
